Where did you get the idea for LawNewsIndex?

TheLawMap as a project had started its web existence in August 2011. The social aspect of the project had always been to present law and those involved with the law in a more humane light. As the team started to spread its wings in the world of social-media, Twitter was seen to be the main tool for that interaction. However, the problem with Twitter is its almost transitory nature. Everything happens in an instance but it is almost impossible to look back into the distant past. Since @TheLawMap Twitter account tweets anything from 50-250 items of law news each day, finding any of that news from a previous day had become a very difficult task. The solution was to create a very simple blog interface that listed each day's law news. LawNewsIndex does not aim to be first to report the news. It is not a newspaper but more a tool for the researcher. It aims to be comprehensive in including all important legal developments within the UK or of interest to a UK reader of international law.

Since its inception there had been a few minor changes to the way we present the individual law news items. Each change had been to simply the look of the site thus making the news items take centre stage. The project is still evolving and any constructive criticism or suggestion with regards to the format is always welcome.
