The last 500 days in Law: LawNewsIndex.com and the shape of things to come

The 9th May is finally here. Spring is here and sadly the blossom is already sticking to the wet pavement all pink, and white. This is not intended to be a celebratory speech on the 500th edition of LawNewsIndex.com although I am somewhat surprised at that feat. As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, a special thanks once again goes to our readers, followers of @TheLawMap on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, the legal, and mainstream press who reporting stories we have later reviewed, and circulated. The last 500 days had been most interesting.

TheLawMap.com as a site has evolved during the process of this year with even more changes in the pipeline to allow for greater interactivity with our readers and within the legal profession. The Law Specials section of the site is presently in the process of featuring topical interviews with legal professionals as well as individuals interested in the idea of justice and the process of law.

The first 'The Saturday Law interview' was with Dr. Trystan Owain Hughes, writer of 'The Compassion Quest' discussing the idea of compassion within the criminal justice system. As I write, the next few interviews include conversations on
  • 'Criminal law in Glasgow' with Paul Mullen, who is part of the Criminal Defence team at Livingstone Brown
  • The legal system in Zimbabwe & justice in the region with advocate Nqobani Nyathi
  • Issues relating to 'women and the law' with Barrister and lecturer Camilla Choudhury Khawaja
  • Social justice and safety regulations in the international textile industry in the wake of the recent factory collapse in Bangladesh' with practising commercial lawyer Barrister Monirul Alam

I am grateful to everyone above and am very much looking forwarding to finding out more about their thoughts on the respective issues, as I am sure are all our readers. Thank you very much once again for all your support.
